Description

The cricket 'Test' match for the 'Korean Ashes', an annual game staged between British and Australian forces serving in Korea is taking place over the weekend of 15-16 October 1955. Australian team member Corporal (Cpl) H Brown (wicket-keeper), of Sydney, NSW, and the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR), participates in a practice session at 'Lords' , a sun baked dirt oval near the truce line. The oval is where the big match will be played. England and Australia have each had a victory in the two 'tests' played since the end of the Korean War, and both sides were determined to win this one. (Cpl H Brown is probably either 27429 Harold William Brown, or 28229 Harry Gurr Brown.)
