Wallet 1 of 1 - Collection includes a 34 page manuscript entitled, "The Massacres of 1942" by researcher and historian, Kathryn Boin. The Manuscript examines four massacres of Australian troops that occurred during the Second World War and examines the further ramifications of the events. The Parit Sulong, Tol Plantation, Banka Island, and Ambon massacres are described, including accounts from survivors. The position of the massacres within international law is assessed and possible reasons for why they may have occurred. Finally the means of presenting the history of the massacres in the galleries of the Australian War Memorial is assessed.
