Description

The RAN converted aircraft carrier, HMAS Sydney (III) has dropped anchor at Vung Tau, South Vietnam, after bringing 291 reinforcements, and 280 tons of ordnance supplies, including 56 vehicles and 50 tons of explosives to the Australian force in Vietnam. Visitors have arrived on board HMAS Sydney to meet with the captain and observe the proceedings. Standing at the rails of HMAS Sydney are, left to right: Major General Arthur Leslie MacDonald, Commander Australian Force in Vietnam (AFV); Australian Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Sir Alan McNicoll; and Captain Domara Andrews Clark, Captain HMAS Sydney.
