Group portrait of members of 2/3rd Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment (LAA), Royal Australian Artillery (RAA), 1st Australian Corps. The portrait was likely taken in Victoria, before deployment, 1940. The two identified people in the image are; VX32514 Gunner (Gnr) Thomas A McNamara is second row, fifth from the left; VX31385 Gnr John E Phillips is second row, eighth from the left. The group are wearing gas mask bags and the front row have steel helmets placed in front of them. The regiment was heavily affected by losses during the evacuation of Crete.

Included with the photo is a partial signature list, which does not identify individual positions in the group portrait. Of the identified signatures, a portion is listed as having become prisoners of war or were killed in action.
