Members of the Darwin Garrison prepare a 6 inch Mark XI Counter Bombardment gun at Emery Point for proof firing. An official party including the Chief of General Staff Major General Sir Julius Bruche, Lieutenant Colonel Harry Charles Bundock, GSO 1 [Artillery]; the Chief Ordnance Mechanical Engineer Major Wright and the unofficial guest Brigadier General (BrigGen) McNicoll. BrigGen McNicholl was the father of Lt R R McNicoll, then in Darwin serving with the Engineers as part of the Garrison, a major in the Militia and a Member of Parliament.
