Coffs Harbour, NSW. 1943-07-16. Aerial view of the wreckage of an Avro Anson aircraft (no. W2638) of `C' Flight, No. 73 Squadron RAAF, at the water's edge on a beach near Nabiac airfield, south of Coffs Harbour. Note the gear salvaged by the crew and moved above the high tide level. The pilot, Flying Officer James Mourilyan Swan, made a forced landing of the aircraft due to fuel exhaustion.
