This airfield (left) was in proximity to the Headquarters of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) at the Nui Dat base area (far right). The Kangaroo Pad is also visible (centre right). Both airfields abut the wooded feature Nui Dat, or 'SAS Hill' (centre). This significant operational complex was approximately 28 km north east of Vung Tau. Both air strips were of asphalt construction providing an all weather capability.
