Studio portrait of 547 Private (later Trooper) Frank Winterburn Kemp, 8th Light Horse Regiment of Rainbow, Victoria. A school teacher prior to enlisting, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Star of Victoria (A16) on 25 February 1915. On 7 August 1915, aged 30, he was killed in action at Walkers Ridge, Gallipoli, Turkey. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
