Studio portrait of 103 Private (Pte) (later Lance Sergeant) Albert Herbert Bouquet, 3rd Battalion, of Bega, NSW. Formerly a chauffeur, Pte Bouquet enlisted on 25 August 1914 and as a member of A Company he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Euripides on 20 October 1914. He served at Gallipoli and was wounded in the hand. After recovering, he served on the Western front where he was killed in action at Pozieres, France, on 23 July 1916, aged 21, and has no known grave.
