Photograph album relating to Robert Thaddeus Roger
Album of 36 pages containing 85 black and white photographs relating to the service of WX4057 Private (Pte) Robert Thaddeus Roger, 2/7 Field Ambulance. Pte Roger, of Maylands, WA, was a prisoner of war at Stalag 383, Hohenfels, Germany, during the Second World War. Photographs in the album are related to Pte Roger's relationships with friends in England and his internment at Stalag 383. Images in the album include: entertainment at Stalag 383, such as boxing, skating, carnivals, revues and theatre shows Puss in Boots, The man who came to dinner, and Highland Holiday; group portraits of the Australian, New Zealand and English swimming teams at the camp; "TOC H" groups; portrait of Kevin Schulze; and a view of Stalag VIIA. The album also includes photographs of the wedding of Alf Wesley, and the double wedding of Maurice and Rene, and Eric and Marjory; the Haizeldens; Sidcup, England; and a program for a West End theatre show The Night and the Music at London Coliseum.
