Collection related to 2784336 Signalman Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, and his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968.
A working party rebuilds a rifle pit on the front wire of 104 Signal Squadron’s area, facing Kangaroo Pad at the Australian base at Nui Dat. Identified from left to right are: 1200548 Lance Corporal John Ian Stephenson, 216810 Signalman Geoffrey William Molineaux, 5714255 Signalman Alan Munro Booker, and 214704 Corporal Terence Edward Reeves. One of 477 colour 35mm transparencies taken or collected by 2784336 Signalman (Sig) Stuart Lindsay Weller, 104 Signal Squadron, relating to his service in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968. Sig Weller recalls: "Thankfully, these pits had been dug by a machine, so our job was to clean out the three trenches that formed a pit, drop in the two frames that formed the overhead protection, backfill the side, and level out the area in front of the fire step so those in the pit had a clear line of sight and fire."
