Mixed collection of speeches, letters, telegrams, cards, invitations, newspaper cuttings and signals covering Commander McLachlan's long RAN career. Included within the collection are signal about the Japanese surrender and the end of World War Two, letters from A.A. Calwell, R.G. Menzies, Lord Louis Mountbatten and Vice Admiral Sir John Collins and letters concerning the awarding of his M.B.E.
