Scott, William John Rendell 'Jack' (Lieutenant Colonel)
Description
Letter written by Lt Colonel Scott, Commanding Officer of "Gull Force" to Mrs Una Smith, relating the circumstances of the death of her son, Private A H Smith on Ambon in February 1942. The letter is highly critical of the Japanese, with particular reference to the Laha massacre. Also contains a photographic copy of the 2/21 Bn flag (Union Jack) signed by unit members at Bonegilla 1940.
