Description
Extensive collection of papers including diaries, letters, maps, reports, articles and notes. Covers service on Gallipoli during war of 1914-1918, and in North Africa and New Guinea during war of 1939-1945 while in command of 2/28 Battalion. Includes correspondence with General Sir Edmund Herring and General A.S. Allen concerning the changes in senior command during the campaign in New Guinea, and with Dudley McCarthy concerning the Second World War Official History.
