Collection relating to the First World War service of Private James Park Woods VC, 4 Battalion, France, 1918.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Collection consists of a letter written by Private James Park Woods to his sister Mary Hardy Woods. It describes the capture of a German post on 18 September 1918 during the advance towards the Hindenburg line, for which Woods was later awarded the Victoria Cross. Woods also recounts the bravery of his accompanying officer and an address to the troops made by Prime Minister William Hughes in October 1918.
