Letters of Corporal Leahy MM, surveyor of 10th Field Company Engineers, 3rd Aust Division. Covers movements from Military camp in Bendigo and Seymour in 1916 through to France after the end of the war. Mentions training and cost of living in England, visiting relatives, flying machines and zeppelins, duties in France (including brief period in a Railway Operating Company), woman, and lack of reading material. Describes circumstances resulting in award of Military Medal, best items to pack in food parcels, acquiring a piano from a German dugout, and briefly mentions offensives at Ypres, Passchendaele, and the Great Spring Offensive in 1917.
