Description

Postcards, photographs, and diaries which describe being wounded at Gallipoli, standed of hospital accommodation at Lemnos, and Heliopolis and Cario in Egypt. Henshall goes on to serve in a number of positions, including as a grocer in Arabia, with 3rd Light Horse Brigade Supply Depot in Egypt, 17th Depot Unit Supply and 26th A.S.C. in France and Belgium, and briefly as W.O. with 18th A.D.U.S. Also mentions Rouen, Frevent, Armentieres, Chateau Belge, Corbie (Henshall was awarded MM for actions here), bicycle trips, and leave in England and Paris. One diary lists movements within Australia for the RAAF Recruiting Centre during WWII. Includes a transcript titled `The Happy Warrior' which incorportes biographical information and recollections of Henshall's children about Henshall after the war.
