Collection relating to NX2589 Private Maurice Francis Joseph Ferry, who served with the 2/30 Infantry Battalion, including a period as a prisoner of war of the Japanese. Collection includes Ferry's original handwritten diary, an album containing letters written by Ferry to his family, photographs and newspaper clippings, and a carbon copy of a typewritten manuscript titled 'The Lost Division', by Maurice Ferry. Prior to his military service in the Second World War, Ferry was a journalist working for "The Sun".
