Collection relating to 517 Lieutenant Leo Aloysius McCartin, 22 Battalion, 1917-1918 and 419328 Flying Officer Patrick Leo McCartin, 75 (NZ) Squadron RAF,1942-1944. The collection relating to Leo McCartin comprises postcards from him to his family, a Red Cross letter reporting that he was killed in action in France, service documents, a scroll congratulating him on his award of the Military Cross and a photograph of him. The material relating to Patrick McCartin includes his log book, correspondence he wrote to his family, photographs of McCartin and his crew and his grave, newspaper cuttings and correspondence from the Department of Air to McCartin's family relating to his death.
