Walstab, John (Lieutenant Colonel) DSO
Description
Collection relating to the military career of Lieutenant Colonel John Walstab, DSO, 5 Battalion, 1902-1940. The bulk of the collection documents his role as Superintendent of Police, Rabaul, c.1920 - c.1940 and is primarily correspondence. The remainder of the collection consists mainly of service documents and also tickets relating to a visit he made to England for the coronation of the King and Queen in 1937, a letter of introduction from the Australian Prime Minister and a certificate appointing him to the Distinguished Service Order. There is also a photograph of him.
