Collection relating to the service of 3906 Private Robin MacKellar, 28 Battalion and Sister Frances Mary Byron 'Fay' MacKellar, Australian Army Nursing Service, 1916-1919. Collection includes five letters from Fay to her mother while nursing in Bombay, 1917-1918; London War Office documents granting permission for Fay to travel to Belgium, France and Rome, 1919 and postcards to family members from Colombo. Other correspondence includes letters exchanged between Private Robin MacKellar and his brother 639 Sergeant Duncan MacKellar, 22 Battalion, February-May 1916; a letter from Robin to his mother, dated three days before he was killed in action at Pozieres, 29 July 1916 and correspondence from the Australian Red Cross reporting Robin missing in action and detailing progress on enquiries, October 1916.
