Collection relating to the First World War service of 880 Company Sergeant Major (CSM) John Leslie (Jack) Carey, 7 Battalion at Gallipoli. Jack Carey originally enlisted under his brother's name Albert George as he was underage. Carey's First World War enlistment papers were at some point changed to reflect his real name. The collection comprises the original and a copy of a letter written on 29 June 1915 to his mother, describing conditions of the Gallipoli campaign.
