Description
Collection relating to 2932 Private Daniel Stewart, 1 Pioneer Battalion, 1916-1919. It comprises three diaries written by Stewart, 1916-1919, and documents his enlistment, troopship voyage on the Borda, training in England and France and active service in France and Belgium. Also included is a hand written transcript of the diaries completed by Stewart on his return from the war and an illustrated typescript with additional biographical details compiled by Stewart's son, 2002.
