Collection relating to the service of NX147635 Chaplain Cecil William Dillon, AIF, Northern Territory, 1943 - 1944. Collection consists of various personal correspondence by and to Chaplain Dillon, with particular reference to the wedding of SX15124 Lieutenant Constance Koch of the Australian Army Nursing Services and TX3114 Warrant Officer Class 2 Robert Scott Tanner of the Australian Army Canteen Service. The wedding took place on Elsey Station in the Northern Territory, in 1943. Material relating to the wedding includes a letter describing the ceremony and two pieces of related ephemera. There are also two letters from Mr and Mrs Tanner dated 1993. Some letters in the collection include references to the damage done to Darwin as a result of Japanese air raids. There are also personal letters written by Captain John Hurtle Charles Lupton, Australian Army; Captain (later Brigadier General) Thomas F McCord, United States Army; Flight Sergeant 424391 Geoffrey James Dunbar, RAAF; 20655418 Sergeant David Clark, [probably an American serviceman]. The collection also contains 4 letters written by Chaplain Dillon to his father, as well as official correspondence relating to his role as an Army Chaplain.
