Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 2035 Private William (Bill) Stenning, 7 Battalion. Collection consists of a two page letter written by Stenning to his sister Mary Jane Stenning, on 15 October 1915 from Sarpi in the Dardanelles. The letter describes the violence of the Battle of Lone Pine and the terrible wounds inflicted on the men. The letter is accompanied by a 2 page typed transcript.
