Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 3589 Private George Gallian Nelson, 29 Battalion, France. Collection consists of a 28 page memoir written by Nelson while convalescing in hospital in England. It covers his experiences from time of embarkation in August 1916 up to his current position in August 1918. Included are descriptions of training, service on the Somme and Messines Ridge, accidental wounding, trips to hospitals, and sightseeing in England and Scotland.
