Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 47698 Private Arthur E Kaye, 4th Infantry Labour Company, Middlesex Regiment, British Army. Consists of a bound and typed copy of letters written by Private Kaye to his family from France during the period 1917 to 1918. Also includes an introduction to the letters and footnotes. Private Kaye had been deemed medically unfit, and so was consigned to the 4th Infantry Labour Company where non combatant troops provided unskilled labour. The letters depict the work and conditions Private Kaye experienced during his service career.
