Latimer, Francis (Sergeant)
Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 565 Sergeant Franics Latimer, photographer with 3 Squadron AFC. Collection consists of three diaries and one notebook written between November 1916 and May 1919 covering Latimer's voyage to the United Kingdom for photographic instruction; his service as a photographer in France including the photographing of the body of Baron Von Richthofen; hospitalisation and leave in the UK; other duties; and his return to Australia. The notebook has numerous entries of technical details relating to his role as a reconnaissance photographer. Includes some sketches and newspapers clippings.
