Shaw, James (Private, 15th Bn AIF b.1898)
Description
Collection relating to the service of Privare James Shaw, 15th Bn AIF b: 1898. The collection consists of a poem titled 'Jim', written about Shaw after he was listed as missing at Bullecourt. Shaw had acutally been captured and spent the rest of the war as a prisoner. The poem was written by Shaw's best friend, Private Patrick Joseph Hogan of the 15th Battalion. It was sent back to their home town of Howard in Queensland and published in the Maryborough Chronicle.
