Research papers of Dr. Guy Verney used in compiling his 1982 thesis "The Army High Command and Australia's defence policy, 1901-1998." Includes originals and copies of correspondence, reports and diary entries relating to General Sir Brudenell White, Sir Ronald Munro, A W Jose, Field Marshall Sir Thomas Blamey, C E W Bean, Lord Kitchener, W H Long, and Generals Bridges, Haig and Birdwood. Subjects include the Council of Defence Special Intelligence Branch Strategic Railways in Australia, the military forces of the empire, formation of citizens leagues, Naval Intelligence on Japan and Brudenell White's early military experiences.
