Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 20503 Private Matson Otto Miller, 12th Field Ambulance.
Collection consists of three original handwritten diaries covering the period from his embarkation in July 1918 to his return to Australia in November 1919. The diaries describe the voyage to England, his posting in hospitals in France and Belgium and his return to Australia.
Also included in the collection are two letters in connection with the death of 1368 Private Ernest Percy Wright of 12th Battalion. Both are condolence letters to his family; one from the Army, the other from 939 Private William Bolter, 4th Battalion. Pte Wright died of septicaemia on 6 September 1915 in Malta.
