Description
Large collection of letters and postcards to his mother and other family members, including some letters to Banks-Smith from Australia. Describes experiences as a stretcher bearer at Gallipoli up to last night of evacuation, driver in France, and mechanic with AFC at Leighterton in England, where he was killed in an aircraft accident. Also included are two informal photographic portraits of Air Mechanic Sydney Harold Banks-Smith, circa 1918, while serving in No.8 Training Squadron, Australian Flying Corps (AFC).
