Description

Souvenir program for a theatrical performance during the First World War. This program is for performances of the operas 'Cavalleria Rusticana' and 'Pagliacci', at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 1917. These performances were held as part of Sir Thomas Beecham's season of Grand Opera in English. This program also features the history of the theatre and advertisements for products such as second-hand furniture, records, cigarettes, chocolates and fur coats. The cover of the program is illustrated with a sketch of King Charles the Second. The program has been signed by W. W. H. Everand.
