Description

Souvenir program for a theatrical performance during the First World War. This program is for a performance of the operetta 'Shanghai', at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London. The program has been annotated by hand with the note that it was shown as a trial matinee on Tuesday 27 August and opened to the public on Wednesday 28 August 1918. This program also features a photograph of the performers and the cover is illustrated with a sketch of King Charles the Second. The program has been signed by Edward White Moncrieff of the 45th Infantry Battalion, Australian Imperial Force.
