Photostat copies of letters relating to the First World War service of Captain Charles Albert Barnes, 11th Battalion. The original letters were written by Captain Barnes to his mother between 14 November and 25 December 1914. The letters include mentions of the voyage to Egypt as part of the First Convoy, the Sydney-Emden battle, Mena Camp and Christmas 1914. These photostat copies were made in 1928 by Australian War Memorial. The location of the original letters is unknown.
