Description
Diary relating to First World War service of Sergeant Albert Henshall, 3rd Light Horse Brigade. This diary covers the period from 8 December 1917 - 11 November 1918, and describes time spent in France, including leave in Paris. Henshall writes about billeting, enemy shelling (inclduing brief mention of the actions for which he was awarded the Military Medal), cold weather, and snow, as well as very favourable impressions of the French landscape and people. Also mentions hearing the "great news of the 1914 men going home".
