DescriptionDiary relating to the First World War service of 1586 Private Verner Gladders Knuckey, 8th Light Horse Regiment. The diary was kept by Private Knuckey between 26 May 1916 and 3 November 1916, and recounts his experiences on duty at the Suez Canal and his frustration at not participating in the battale at Romani. The diary also includes a short newspaper clipping title 'ANZAC Victory: The Turks Surprised', from the Gippsland Mercury on the 22 September 1916.
