Description

Diary relating to the First World War service of 1586 Private Verner Gladders Knuckey, 8th Light Horse Regiment. The diary was kept by Private Knuckey between 26 May 1916 and 3 November 1916, and recounts his experiences on duty at the Suez Canal and his frustration at not participating in the battale at Romani. The diary also includes a short newspaper clipping title 'ANZAC Victory: The Turks Surprised', from the Gippsland Mercury on the 22 September 1916.
