Description
Transcript of diary relating to the First World War service of 1586 Private Verner Gladders Knuckey, 2nd Squadron, Australian Flying Corps. The original diary was kept by Private Knuckey between 3 September 1917 and 22 November 1917. It describes his experiences training in England, sightseeing in Newcastle, his journey to France and the heroism of a number of pilots during the period prior to the Battle of Cambrai. In this transcript, the dates are recorded erroneously as September to November 1916.
