Description

File of papers relating to the First World War service of Colonel John Monash. This file, originally part of Book 1, covers 14 August to 3 November 1914 and includes official documents and correspondence relating to the establishment and organisation of the 4th Infantry Brigade. Included in this file are draft instructions for censors, telegrams from Monash to the Defence Department requesting certain individuals for the Brigade, and documents on the establishment of the other Australian Brigades.
