File of papers relating to the First World War service of Brigadier General John Monash, 4th Infantry Brigade. This file, originally part of Book 11, covers 25 December 1915 to 8 January 1916 and includes information on the strength of the battalions in the 4th Brigade after the evacuation from Gallipoli, instructions to troops on their return to Egypt, draft plans for the constructions of a camp at Moascar in order to process new recruits, and an account of the actions of Lieutenant Crabbe, which includes a brief description of the actions of Sergeant Albert Jacka, VC.
