Description

File of papers relating to the First World War service of Brigadier General John Monash, 4th Infantry Brigade. This file, originally part of Book 13, covers 1 June 1916 and 1 July 1916 and includes a number of documents relating to the movement of 4th Brigade to France. This includes Ship's Orders, menus for meals taken on board the Transylvania, band programs for concerts on board the transport ship and information about events at the front. It also contains a number of memoranda relating to trench duty and outlines a number of operations consisting of raids on German trenches. Several documents relating to the death of 603 Corporal William Locke Harris at Gallipoli are also included.
