File of papers relating to the First World War service of Major General John Monash, 3rd Australian Division. This file, originally part of Book 17, covers 14 January 1918 to 11 February 1918 and includes correspondence between Monash and Brigadier General Goddard relating to the return of Captain Oscar Tedder to Australia, a condensed history of Flanders, a letter from Lord Derby concerning the procurement of headstones for Australian graves in each war zone, a detailed syllabus for the GHQ Small Arms School, including a detailed map of the machine gun school at Camiers and a number of messages reporting on the progress of a raid carried out on 10 February.
