File of papers relating to the First World War service of Major General John Monash, 3rd Australian Division. This file, originally part of Book 18, covers 21 April 1918 to 8 May 1918 and includes an account of the death of Manfred Albrecht von Richthofen (the Red Baron) drawn from eyewitness testimony, correspondence relating to the Third anniversary of the landing at Anzac, a policy on the use of machine guns, newspaper articles on the losses of merchant ships, correspondence between Monash and Field Marshal Birdwood concerning the reorganisation of the 9th Brigade and a report on the activities of the Y.M.C.A for Jewish soldiers written by Honorary Lieutenant Harold Boas.
