Diary relating to the First World War service of 475 Private Gordon Colin Cooper, 1st Light Horse Regiment. In this diary, kept between 1 January 1917 and 3 January 1918, Cooper records his service as part of 1st Light Horse Regiment. Among his obervations about military life are descriptions of the Battle of Rafa and the eventual fall of Gaza, as well as several references to the Battle of Beersheba.
