Description
Transcripts of diary relating to the First World War service of 1803 Private Cecil Anthony McAnulty 3rd Infantry Battalion. In the original diary, kept between 1 June [1915] and 8 August [1915], McAnulty details his experiences whilst serving with 3rd Battalion at Gallipoli. He describes his experiences at Gallipoli in great detail, in particular the days surrounding the Battle of Lone Pine. McAnulty's last entry is during the battle (dated 8 August 1915) and ends mid-sentence. He was killed in action at Lone Pine shortly after, sometime between 8 and 10 August 1915.
