Description

Written account and transcript relating to the First World War service of 7884 Stoker Niels Peter Henry "Chook" Nielsen, Royal Australian Navy. In this account written in 1925, Nielsen details the days leading up to and the day of the action between HMAS Sydney and SMS Emden on 9 November 1914. He includes a list of British shipping that SMS Emden had sunk or captured up until that point, a list of ships that comprised the troop convoy from Australia in early November 1914, and a list of those wounded and killed in the action on 9 November 1914. Also included in this file is a transcript of the written account.
