Description
Letters relating to the First World War service of Major Geoffrey Gordon McCrae, 7th Battalion.
The letters from Major McCrae to members of his family were written between October 1915 and December 1915. In his letters, McCrae discusses his time at the rest camp at Mudros, his temporary promotion to commanding officer, and subsequent return to duties as second-in-command. Furthermore, McCrae describes his return to Gallipoli in November and the evacuation of troops. Hand drawn sketches and drawings are also included in this collection.
