Description
Diary relating to the First World War service of 25 Private Thomas James Richards, 1st Australian Field Ambulance. The entries in this diary span the period 16 June to 17 August 1915 and cover the work of Richards and the 1st Australian Field Ambulance at Gallipoli, including the conditions and problems they faced, and the August Offensive. It was during this period that Richards would receive a special mention in divisional orders for gallantry or valuable service. This diary was originally bound by Richards into the second of four volumes and donated to the Australian War Memorial in 1933.
