Kitbag : Lieutenant C L Halkyard, 32 Battalion AIF
Description
Faded black canvas kit bag with rounded bottom. The opening of the bag has brass rings around the edge for threading through a drawstring and a flap for covering the contents when the bag is closed. The bag is marked in faint grey lettering with 'LT. HALKYARD 32 BN A.I.F.' and a small representation of a bird. The remains of an adhesive patches are visible over a number of holes on the front and back.
History / Summary
Associated with Lieutenant Clarence Leslie Halkyard who served with 32 Battalion, AIF. He embarked for return to Australia with the rank of captain on 31 January 1918.
